The International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) constitutes a leading scientific forum on digital libraries that brings together researchers, developers, content providers and users in the field of digital libraries. TPDL 2013, the 17th edition of the conference, will be organized by University of Malta and it will be held in Valletta, Malta on September 22-26, 2013.

The conference will host some 300 delegates from 40 countries from all continents, including academics and representatives of memory institutions. Many distinguished delegates, deans of information schools across the globe, and representatives of the EC, Unesco, the Council of Europe and other international bodies are among the participants.

A novelty this year is the cooperation with the iSchools community within the specialised Global Workshop of iSchools.

The series of TPDL conferences is a prime forum for academics and practitioners from the cultural heritage sector interested in digitisation, accessibility online and long-term preservation.
