EU Youth Conference on social inclusion of young people

Throughout the next four days, 200 young people and policy-makers from all EU member states and candidate countries — as well as representatives from the European Commission, European Youth Forum and international youth organisations — will discuss seven topics that resulted from four months of consultations in all member states. Among them are educational reform, information and career guidance and facilitating the transition from education to employment. Participants will also have a chance to debate topics related to improving the labour market for young people, supporting young people’s autonomy, developing more cross-sectorial cooperation and enhancing the role of youth organisations in active inclusion measures such as the Youth Guarantee.

The conference will officially open today 10th of September with speeches from the European Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, Lithuania’s Minister of Social Security and Labour Algimanta Pabedinskienė and Vice President of the Youth Forum Lloyd-Russell Moyle. During the opening plenary, Guoda Lomanaite, Youth Forum Vice President, will present the outcomes of the previously mentioned consultations.
