Jameson Dublin International Film Festival to present the best in new European cinema

As part of the Presidency´s Cultural Programme, the 2013 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival is to focus on film with a European perspective. The Festival which runs from 14th to 24th February will screen ´the best in new European cinema´ and will be attended by many of the acclaimed European directors who make the films.

France’s Pascal Bonitzer, Olivier Assayas and Costa-Gavras will be among several of the visiting film-makers offering insights into their work. Danish writer/directors Tobias Lindholm and Mads Matthiesen will also be Festival participants, as will UK Directors Sophie Fiennes, Scott Graham and actor Tim Roth, who stars in Broken, the film being screened in the Gala Opening. The line-up is further enhanced by award-winning German actor Birgit Minichmayr, Spanish co-directors Patxo Telleria and Aitor Mazo, Lithuanian director Kristina Buozyte, and Polish screenwriter Krzysztof Kopka.

A Festival highlight will be A European Perspective: Conversations with Leading European Directors, a chance for film fans to hear leading Irish and international film-makers in conversation about their craft and what inspires them.
