Mahindra has unveiled its next generation all electric, zero emission Mahindra e2o at India Gate, New Delhi, a car perfectly in line with the company’s vision for the future of mobility – Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost effective.
As of 18 March 2013 the Mahindra e2o went on sale at selected Mahindra dealerships nationwide. The vehicle is priced at €8,486, post state subsidies (grant, VAT and road tax reduction/exemption).
Powered by next generation lithium–ion batteries and a three-phase induction electric motor; the Mahindra e2o is designed for city driving. It has a small turning radius, facilitating driving in urban areas. The interior space is said to be big enough to fit four adults.
Regarding connectivity, Mahindra provides e2o owners with a smartphone app from where you can control many aspects of the car, such as air conditioning and the ability to lock/unlock the car from anywhere.
Exceptionally innovative is a patented technology called REVive®. In the rare event of running low on charge, users are able to use the app on the smartphone to remotely activate a reserve energy that can help users safely finish any unplanned trips.
The Mahindra e2o can charge from any 15A power socket available in any home. It takes 5 hours to fully charge the battery, which according to the company gives the driver 100km of range.
