According to a White House official, Obama will stop in Binghamton, Buffalo, Syracuse and northeast Pennsylvania. The trip is planned for Thursday, Aug. 22 and Friday, Aug. 23.
The focus of the trip will be the cost of higher education. Upstate New York is home to several colleges and universities. In Central New York, colleges and universities like Syracuse University, Cayuga Community College and SUNY Oswego are major contributors to the local economy.
“The president will lay out some ideas he has about other things we can do to make sure that there is an access to a quality college education beyond just making sure student have the resources they need to borrow the money to afford it," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Wednesday in Martha´s Vineyard.
