South Summit 2017, the leading entrepreneur event launched in Madrid

South Summit 2017, one of the biggest entrepreneurship fairs has started in Madrid. This platform of innovation and business development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem will be celebrated until Friday in La N@ve in Madrid (Spain),

South Summit 2017 will be held in Madrid at the municipal space LA N@VE from 4th to 6th of October. The program of this edition includes new disruptive technologies that impact on major industries: Fintech & Insurance, Industry & Energy, Media & Entertainment, Food, Travel, Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle, Education, Health & Wellness.

 

The encounter, organized by Spain Startup and IE Foundation -IE Business School, in collaboration with Endesa, BStartup of Banco Sabadell and Google for Entrepreneurs, will bring together all stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem: startups, investors, institutions, companies and leading corporations. A space to bring out all the creativity that drives innovation and disruption to launch an idea, solve existing problems in different ways and generate new business spaces.

 

Additionally, over 250 international speakers, as well as major investment funds and venture capital, business angels, institutions and national and international partners have already confirmed their attendance at South Summit.

 

South Summit is recognised as one of the main employment fairs dedicated to entrepreneurship in Europe. The aim of the summit is to connect the most innovative entrepreneurs with the most important global investors and with companies looking to improve their competitiveness through innovation.

This year 100 finalists startups have been selected in the Startup Competition. It is one of the leading fairs of entrepreneurship and employment in Europe. The 2016 edition managed to bring together 12,500 participants from more than one hundred nationalities. According its founder, María Benjumea, "91% of the 400 startup finalists of the latest editions of South Summit have been successfull and have raised more than one trillion dollars in what they have of existence ".

South Summit began in 2012 with the conviction that entrepreneurs are a driving force for the economy. Through various panels and meetings, Start-ups can get in touch with world leaders in innovation. A European Startup survey indicates that there is only one European country with two cities in top positions: Spain, with Barcelona in fifth place, and Madrid in the sixth. Benjumea, also director of Google Campus Madrid, assures that Madrid is the fourth campus of Google of a network of six.
